Something I learned recently from some DSP and tuning gurus is to use 24dB Linkwitz-Riley filters wherever possible. This eliminates changes in phase and could potentially improve the sound quality. It's certainly worth trying.

To use the DSP for SUBWOOFERS, set the filter to 20HZ 0dB slope. wont cut out at 20 but play down to whatever the music is at.

I play from a lot of sources and set my gain with the bass knob in the middle, that way when playing something not rebassed or recorded low, I have room to turn it up. I can see the reasoning with setting with the knob at mac but you are pretty restricted to rebassed stuff it you want full potential. If you set it with the knob in the middle, you can crank the bass up, setting with the knob at max will only let you turn the bass down. I keep a clip light up front and will keep things at a soft clip or lower

The key is to just have fun with it, doesn't matter what you're running if you enjoy it. Could be a cheap little 6.5 in a prefab, or a couple department store 12's, or a monster SPL system. It can be tough not having money to go all out with the "best" brands, but is what it is sometimes. I just play with what I can get second hand cheap. Currently using a cobbled together 15 (I built out of two dead subs I had laying around) with 1000-1500w, prior to that a pair of Kicker CVR 12's, prior to that Kove Armageddon 15, before that MA Audio 12's, Jensens, Sony 12, etc. I do have a pair of older Sundown X18-v2's I got cheap that need reconed, but recones are not as cheap as they use to be so just kinda hanging on to them for the future, decent platform to rebuild. At the end of the day, I can have fun with some old Jensen 10's, or American Bass Elite 12, old MTX 6000 10, etc, it's all fun to play with when messing around with audio gear. I might not like a company for specific reasons (pretty rare though), but I'm a basshead so I don't care what people are running, and I'll use anything if I got a bargain on it. I love car audio and bass, been playing with the stuff since I was a young teen in the late 90's.

I got 2 sundown nsv5 12s on a crescendo 8k. 8 8inch sundown neo mids in the my doors on a crescendo s1 and a crescendo s4 on 4 sundown tweeters. Gp alt and 3 d4s jp40 lithium and the amount of shit people talk about my jp 40 lithium or my gp alt or even my overpriced sundown stuff is outstanding 😂. The bottom line is like mentioned in this video. As long as you like it, it is all that matters. If you are not paying for someone else's stuff, don't worry what someone has.

Never had skar but i bought 2 10"inch seismic audio subs for $120 for both and they sound really nice i dnt think seismic audio makes them anymore but they were a good buy for that price lol

my setup in my car is a mini wall in a 2003 ford escape 300 amp alt 120 cmax bravo 5k 2 15 inch subs resilient sounds onyx series and 2 6.5 resilient sounds mids and 2 RS tweeters my old setup did a 141 db on a 3k
